Basic but comfortable, christ school Shillong has separate girls, boys and kids quarters for hostellers and day boarders all lodgings are housed in the residential block. Students of varying age groups are teamed up to simulate an ambience of siblings in a close-knit family and while lady teachers supervise the girl’s hostel, male teachers are responsible for the body’s loadings. Two residents’ teachers one a warden another an assistant warden is responsible for each hostel in addition a student warden entrusted with ensuring total compliance with norms governing boarders. Strict discipline in terms of hygiene sanitation and adherence to schedules are maintained in hostels. In addition to weekly inspection by the administrator surprise checks are also carried out from time to time.
Health Care
Christ School, Shillong has an infirmary with experienced and trained nurses and para-medical staff to tend the medical needs of students. A panel of general practitioners (including paediatricians and dentists) routinely visit the campus to examine students' general health and dentition Doctors are on call round the clock in case of an emergency.
A confidential record with the medical history of each student, including medication regimens and treatment protocols, is maintained on file by the school;
Parents of students on medical protocols should ensure adequate stock of medicines and timely replenishment specially in the case of inhalants, allergy suppressants, insulin etc. all medication, including tonics and vitamin supplements must be handed over along with the dosage chart to the warden who will supervise their consumption.
Students are not permitted to keep medication of any description, in their own possession. Violation may lead to expulsion.
Boarders must report sick to their respective wardens if they wish to see a physician: a record of such request will be entered in their medical file
Students are mandatorily required to fill out a confidential record from at the time of admission giving details of any pre-existing condition, parents ate also required to sign an indemnity waiver while admitting their children to the school.
Insurance
Irrespective of existing courage, all day and residential boarders of Christ School, Shillong, are compulsorily required to be covered under a group medical, health and accident insurance scheme the premium of which is to be borne by the students;
Parents have the option of choosing additional courage for their children such additional premium, however, would have to be paid directly to the insurer
The school reserves the right to choose the insurance company providing such courage, based upon the expedience of the scheme
Parents are required to sign a declaration authorising the school authorities to initiate medical intervention, including surgery involving administration of anaesthesia in the event of any emergency
Discipline
Christ School (International) Shillong lays a great deal of emphasis on discipline in education and child rearing. Parents and guardians are urged to cooperate and support our endeavour to mould our students into disciplined, upright, law abiding citizens.
The school solicits parents' support especially in adhering strictly to working day and holiday routines with regard to visitation to ensure proper discipline. Faculty and subordinate staff closely supervise and guide virtually every aspect of the students' lives both on and off campus and hostel.
